STYREKX is no ordinary fitness event. Powered by Concept2 & Strong Viking, our hybrid fitness race lets your endurance meet raw power and your mindset is tested just as much as your muscles. 10 rounds of 800 meter runs are broken up by 10 functional workout stations that challenge your strength, technique and mental grit in equal measure.
Each station is carefully designed to hit a different part of your body and keep you working at maximum effort from start to finish. Here’s what’s waiting for you in the arena.
What’s waiting for you at the STYREKX workout stations?
Below you’ll find the full breakdown of each individual workout station at STYREKX. Make some mental notes, so you know exactly what to expect and where you’ll be pushed past your limits.
1. Row Erg
Going in with a bang! The 1,000-meter on one of our 40 Row Ergs smashes your arms, shoulders and back awake from the very first pull. Your heart rate skyrockets and your technique is tested under pressure. Find your flow, keep every stroke explosive and steady, and set the tone for the rounds ahead. This is where your engine starts.
2. Sled Push
A fan favourite, and a true leg killer! The Sled Push is all about brute force. Loaded heavy and driven forward with every ounce of power in your glutes, quads and core. You crouch low, grip tight and push until the finish is the only thing you see. The resistance will fight you back, but you’re here to win.
3. Ski Erg
Coordination, rhythm and power collide on one of the 40 Ski Ergs at our venue. You pull with your lats, shoulders and triceps while your lungs scream for air. Smooth transitions and tight technique are key. Pull strong, stay light on your feet and keep your focus razor-sharp. This one rewards precision under fatigue.
4. Sandbag Lunges
Here’s where your legs get loud. Sandbag Lunges demand balance and total body control. A heavy sandbag sits on your shoulders as you step forward, keeping your core braced and your mind locked in. Every lunge needs to be clean, so no shortcuts or sloppiness. Step by step, you own the burn.
5. Load Crawl
Welcome to primal power. The Load Crawl drops you low to the ground, dragging a heavy load behind you as you crawl forward. Shoulders, core, legs: everything works overtime while you fight to keep your form tight. This is not about speed but about grinding it out when your whole body begs to stop.
6. Sled Pull
This is grip, grit and upper-body strength on full display. Rope in hand, feet planted, and every muscle engaged as you haul the sled in. Explosive pulls turn into a battle of endurance as your arms and back fatigue. Stay calm, pull with rhythm, and win the fight one meter at a time.
7. Farmers Carry
Simple in theory, brutal in practice. Grip two heavy dumbbells and start walking. Every step tests your grip, posture and mental composure. Your shoulders burn, your forearms ache, your mind wants out, but you hold on. The only way through is forward.
8. Wall Balls
Squat deep, explode up, hit the target. Repeat it 80 times. Wall Balls hit your legs, shoulders and lungs all at once. The deeper you squat and the cleaner your throw, the smoother your rhythm. Stay calm, breathe steady and keep your eyes on the ball. The finish line is closer with every rep.
9. Burpee Jumps
Burpees on overdrive. Drop, push, jump and launch forward. Burpee Broad Jumps blend explosive strength and cardio with pure mental grit. No time to overthink it, just keep moving. Dig deep when your legs scream and your lungs burn. This is all gas, no brakes.
10. Strength Erg (Chest press)
Meet the machine that pushes back. The Concept2 Strength Erg station (Chest press) is the final test. Chest, triceps and shoulders under constant tension while your mind says stop. Keep your rhythm strong, push every rep like it’s the last and prove that you’ve got power left when everyone else would quit. This is where strength gets personal.
